Medaille Trust is pleased to invite practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and civil society actors to a one-day Shared Learning Event on Criminal Justice and Precarious Migration, delivered as part of the RECAP Project, funded by the FCDO Integrated Security Fund (ISF).

his event brings together UK and Albanian expertise to explore the drivers, impacts, and responses to precarious migration, with a particular focus on organised crime, trafficking, legal frameworks, and community-led prevention. Through research-led presentations, policy analysis, and cross-sector discussion, the day will examine how criminal justice systems, migration governance, and civil society responses intersect, and where current approaches succeed or fall short.

The programme features leading academics, practitioners, and frontline organisations working across the UK and Albania, offering evidence-based insights into:

  • Drivers of Albanian precarious and irregular migration
  • Lived experiences of returnees and reintegration challenges
  • Organised crime group evolution and transnational dynamics
  • Legal gaps, geopolitics, and enforcement challenges
  • Diaspora and community engagement in prevention and trust-building
