Caritas Diocese of Brentwood Expands Mission with New Development Role

Following a successful networking event in Romford attended by parishioners and key charitable organisations—including CAFOD, JRS, SVP, and Your Place—the Caritas Diocese of Brentwood is entering a new phase of growth by recruiting a full-time Development Officer.

Launched in 2018 by Bishop Alan, Caritas Brentwood supports social justice, peace, and charitable work across Essex and East London. The newly announced role reflects the organisation’s deepening commitment to community outreach and development. Director Siân Thomas-Cullinan noted the success of their recent event, describing it as “full of meaningful connections and valuable conversations.”

“This appointment is a recognition of the progress Caritas has made in our Diocese. It’s an exciting step forward to support more communities and continue our mission to serve those on the margins,” Siân shared.

The three-year role, funded by a generous legacy, aims to support volunteers, enhance parish engagement, and grow interfaith and inter-parish social action.

Medaille Trust shares Caritas’ passion for Catholic Social Teaching, grassroots service, and community impact. As organisations across the UK continue working to protect the vulnerable, we celebrate this milestone and look forward to future collaboration in the shared mission of dignity, justice, and compassion.
