This report, developed by the Modern Slavery Policy and Evidence Centre (MSPEC) in partnership with The Passage, explores the housing barriers faced by survivors of modern slavery in the UK. It highlights key challenges survivors encounter when trying to access safe, stable accommodation and the impact that housing insecurity can have on recovery, wellbeing, and long-term independence.
Drawing on research evidence and frontline insight, the report identifies opportunities to strengthen housing pathways, improve cross-sector collaboration, and build more supportive systems that enable survivors to rebuild their lives with dignity and security.
We hope this research contributes to meaningful policy and practice change, supporting more effective responses to homelessness and improving access to safe housing for survivors across the UK.
